I want to find relatives and reveal the story behind my grate+ father's biography. He was sent to the south of Russia being a little boy. The family name has remained the same. I do not know the details. but my grand father called us little countess. Guess here's a logic: the ansestor told the was a count when he was dying. 

Maybe there's someone who could know what had happened.

please mention if possible as many data as you can (toponyms, years, spouses, emigration, and so on)
to make your question a little bit less difficult.
BTW according to Dutch privacy laws you may not give details here about people who are still alive
